The Youth Food Stamp Nutrition Education Program (Y-FSNEP) is a federally funded program to address the nutrition education needs of California youth who are from families that receive or have applied for food stamps. The Y-FSNEP curriculum promotes healthy eating patterns and physical activity for youth and their families. Nutrition and garden-enhanced nutrition education curriculum is available for Pre-K through 12th grade. Some materials are also available in Spanish.
A program representative will provide free hands-on, on-site teacher training and support to schools and organizations that serve youth from low-income families. In addition, teachers actively enrolled in the program can request a classroom presentation.
