Youth and Community Development
About Youth Development
Youth development is defined as the ongoing process in which all young people are engaged and invested. Through positive youth development opportunities, young people meet basic personal and social needs and build competencies necessary for successful adolescent and adult life. It is an approach, framework, a way to think about young people that focuses on their capacities, strengths, and developmental needs rather than on their weaknesses and problems.
About Community Development
One aspect of community development includes providing groups and individuals with the skills they need to affect change in their own communities.
